HMS Halloween Dance

No

Huntington Middle School hosted its annual Halloween Dance, October 29. Foxes filled the area between the Barth Athletics Complex and the 400s-building, and danced along to trending music.

The dance was an opportunity for students to party and let out their skeletons, goblins, and anime characters. Many students expressed their interest in their favorite movies through their costumes. DJ Vinni from PMMNP DJs & Events blasted lights

“This is the best school dance I’ve ever been to,” said Leah Lopez (8) who was wearing a Gryffindor uniform from her favorite adapted-to movies book series, Harry Potter. “The music is really cool and the lighting is lit.”

It was the ideal opportunity to meet new people that might have the same interests in movies through their costumes. Students were dressed as various things, such as an inflatable dinosaur, a few had do-it-yourself costumes made out of cardboard or tinfoil, some wore In-n-Out costumes, and some donned green uniforms from the recently trending Squid Game. Other students chose more traditional costumes, such as skeletons, ghosts, and anime maid costumes.

Tickets for the dance were $15 dollars pre-ordered, and $20 at the door.

Chart-topping jams from Bruno Mars, Lil Nas X, TikTok music, and the iconic rickroll, “Never Gonna Give You Up, by Rick Astley were played at the dance. Many students partied along to the blasting music and danced with enthusiasm.

“I’m going deaf and blind at the same time,” skeleton Emily Yang (8) said, commenting on the loud music and flashing lights.

Shaved ice and an opportunity to take pictures with friends for free was presented at the dance. Long lines were formed immediately after both shops opened, throughout the entire party. Props were presented at the photo booth for students to use in their photos.

“This is a great event for the students of Huntington Middle School to come together and celebrate Halloween,” school principal, Mr. Topalian said.

Beaming students left after having a fangtastic night.
